Thanks for doing all this research! I grew up in a house at the corner of Glencairn and Meridian avenues, in the Circle Road area of Snowdon. I had occasion once to dig approximately 7 feet below surface level in the backyard of that house, and besides finding many water-smoothed pebbles and rocks, I came across a layer of small white shells, shaped much like oyster shells but considerably smaller, like one might find at the edge of a lake. Your map of "Approximated paths of creeks prior to 1800" happens to have a creek going directly through the circle road neighborhood.

Friends of mine from Montreal marvel at our Toronto ravine system with its parks and trails. We all assumed Montreal NEVER had any creeks! Thank you for insight into a fascinating topic. Would that Montreal had retained its ravines to make it even more beautiful!

Who could fail to be fascinated with the subject?! There's quite some extent of formerly aboveground watercourses there hey. I'll consider myself primed and ready for more 'in depth' coverage.

We face similar issues regarding the accuracy of historical map data pre-1800.
