He told me that in the old days, when the brakemen rode on the roofs of trains, they would hang tattletales above the tracks before low bridges and tunnels, so that the brakemen wouldn't get knocked off the train. I used to hang them from the low beams in an my old cabin, so that tall people would stop hitting their heads. A friend of mine just told me about your blog. I can’t wait to read the older entries!
